With the release of the PS5 Pro, Sony has officially entered the mid-cycle upgrade phase of this console generation—and while the base PS5 already offered decent visuals and performance, the Pro model takes things to a new level. Thanks to a more powerful GPU, advanced ray tracing capabilities, and AI-powered upscaling (courtesy of Sony’s PSSR tech), games look and run better than ever.

But what really sells a hardware upgrade is the software—specifically, which games are enhanced to take advantage of the new tech. So far, more than 100 titles have been optimized for the PS5 Pro, and the difference in visual fidelity and performance can be substantial.

Here’s a look at the most notable games that have been enhanced, and what exactly makes the Pro version of these titles so appealing.

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on Steam

Already a technical showpiece on the base PS5, Spider-Man 2 sees notable boosts on the Pro. Expect sharper resolution, smoother frame pacing in Performance Mode, and enhanced ray tracing effects that make New York look even more lifelike at night and in rain.

2. Alan Wake II

Remedy’s psychological horror sequel demands a lot from your system—and the PS5 Pro delivers. The Pro patch brings cleaner lighting effects, more detailed shadows, and an upscaled 4K presentation that holds frame rates more consistently in its most visually dense scenes.

3. Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West™ Complete Edition on Steam

Guerrilla’s open-world masterpiece is already visually stunning, but the Pro version adds crisper textures, better foliage rendering at distance, and a more stable high-frame-rate mode. You’ll especially notice the difference in dense environments and cutscenes.

4. The Last of Us Part II Remastered

One of Sony’s most celebrated narratives now runs with added clarity and frame rate options on PS5 Pro. The remastered version benefits from PSSR upscaling, allowing for a sharper image in high-action sequences while preserving cinematic detail.

5. God of War Ragnarök

Kratos’ journey gets a technical facelift here. On PS5 Pro, the game offers better performance in its Favor Performance and Favor Quality modes, including enhanced ambient occlusion and more responsive gameplay during intense combat.

6. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

This ambitious second entry in the FF7 Remake saga sees marked improvements with its Pro enhancements. Load times are even snappier, and both environments and character models pop with upgraded lighting, sharper textures, and a smoother frame rate in battle.

7. Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 on Steam

Capcom’s remake shines on PS5 Pro, especially in lighting-heavy sequences. The Pro enhancements improve frame pacing, remove some of the subtle jitter present in the base version, and boost environmental detail in both rural and urban zones.

8. Dragon’s Dogma 2

Already a GPU-taxing open-world RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2 benefits massively from the extra power. The PS5 Pro version smooths out performance dips and sharpens image quality across distant vistas, NPC detail, and magical effects.

9. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor - PS5 Games | PlayStation (US)

On the base PS5, Jedi: Survivor ran into some frame rate hiccups and resolution drops. The Pro patch cleans much of this up. With better frame rate stability and AI upscaling in Quality Mode, you get a more fluid and visually consistent experience.

10. Baldur’s Gate 3

The beloved RPG’s tactical battles feel even better with smoother performance and sharper overhead visuals. The PS5 Pro version improves UI clarity and environmental detail, which helps when navigating the game’s dense, lore-packed environments.

11. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Though still unreleased, Activision has confirmed Black Ops 6 will be a launch title for PS5 Pro’s enhancement initiative. It will support PSSR for 4K output and higher frame rates in multiplayer, as well as improved particle and lighting effects.

12. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Already one of the best showcases of PS5’s SSD power, the Pro version refines performance even further. You’ll get tighter frame rates and cleaner upscaling during dimensional shifts, with ray tracing effects that look noticeably more detailed.

13. Hogwarts Legacy

The PS5 Pro patch brings better resolution scaling and more stable frame rates in open-world exploration. The game’s lighting effects during spell casting and in dark interiors are also noticeably richer and more immersive.

14. Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade™ - PS5 Games | PlayStation (US)

As one of Sony’s newer exclusives, Stellar Blade comes optimized right out of the gate. The PS5 Pro enables ultra-smooth frame rates during combat and high-res character rendering, making the fast-paced action feel even more fluid.

15. Until Dawn (Remake)

Until Dawn™ on Steam

The upcoming remake of Until Dawn has been built with PS5 Pro features in mind. Expect high-resolution facial capture, smoother lighting transitions, and better rendering in cinematic sequences that keep the horror vibe intact.

16. Game Boost for Legacy Titles

Beyond native Pro-enhanced titles, Sony’s Game Boost feature improves performance and visuals on over 8,500 PS4 and PS5 games. These aren’t always full graphical overhauls, but many benefit from more stable frame rates and better load times—even without dedicated patches.

Why the PS5 Pro Makes Sense for Visual Purists

If you’re the type of gamer who notices subtle changes in shadow rendering or gets frustrated by fluctuating frame rates, the PS5 Pro is built for you. It won’t change the fundamental experience of a game, but it does polish it in meaningful ways. Whether it’s a smoother 60fps in combat or more realistic lighting during a moody cutscene, these small changes add up—especially on modern 4K displays.

With more enhanced titles being added regularly and major upcoming games targeting PS5 Pro from day one, it’s clear Sony is setting this hardware up as the gold standard for premium console gaming in the years ahead.
