Powering Off and On

Restoring From an iCloud Backup

If there’s nothing wrong with your hardware, then restoring your data from an iCloud backup might be the way to go. However, keep in mind that any data that’s not in the backup won’t be recovered in this process – so make sure all your data is backed up on iCloud before proceeding with this step.

To restore from an iCloud backup, go into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content & Settings and confirm by tapping “Erase Now” at the prompt. Follow this up by selecting the “Restore from iCloud Backup” option and logging in with your Apple ID credentials. Then, choose from a list of available backups and follow through with the setup instructions for restoring the information on your device. Make sure that you’ve got a reliable WiFi connection and power source, as the process can take some time depending on how much data is being restored.
